About this book

Shasta, a boy raised by a fisherman in the far south of Calormen, learns that he is to be sold as a slave, and that he was found as a baby in a boat. When he meets a talking horse from Narnia named Bree, the two decide to run away to the north.

On the road they join Aravis, a young noblewoman fleeing an arranged marriage, and her mare Hwin, and they uncover a plot to attack the kingdom of Archenland, which they must warn before it is too late. A Narnia adventure set in the reign of the four Pevensie children.
