Terry Pratchett was a British author best known for his Discworld series, a long-running and highly influential series of comedic fantasy novels. Pratchett was born in 1948 and began his career as a journalist before turning to fiction writing in the 1980s.The Discworld series, which consists of over 40 novels and numerous related works, is set on a flat world that rests on the back of four elephants, which in turn stand on the back of a giant turtle that swims through space. The series is known for its wit, satire, and absurdist humor, as well as its complex and imaginative world-building.Pratchett's other notable works include the standalone novel "Good Omens," co-written with Neil Gaiman, and the Johnny Maxwell trilogy, a series of young adult novels.
