About this book
The last of the Lyonesse novels follows Madouc, a fiery young princess at King Casmir's court who learns she was left by the fairies in place of a human baby. Determined to find out who she really is, she sets out with a stable boy on a quest of her own, while her father promises her hand to any knight who brings back the Holy Grail.
Meanwhile Casmir's schemes against the neighbouring kingdom of Troicinet go wrong at every turn, and a spiteful wizard plots to undo the spell that holds the Elder Isles above the sea.
The third book of the Lyonesse trilogy, and winner of the World Fantasy Award.
