The Jasmine Throne

Princess Malini has been exiled by her ruthless brother, the emperor, to the Hirana, a ruined mountain temple that once guarded a source of deathless water. She is held there, watched and slowly poisoned.

Priya, a maidservant who comes up the mountain at night to clean Malini's rooms, hides a secret of her own: the magic of the Hirana still calls to her. When Malini sees what Priya can do, their fates are tied together, and they begin to plot to save their empire. The first book in the Burning Kingdoms trilogy.
