Shigidi and the Brass Head of Obalufon

Shigidi is a nightmare god of the Yoruba pantheon, tired and without purpose, who keeps going by answering the prayers of the few people who still believe in him. When he meets Nneoma, a succubus with a secretive past, the two of them decide to get out from under the controlling Orisha Spirit Company.

But the elder gods have plans for him. The story, set in Lagos, Singapore and London, ends in a heist to take an ancient artifact back from the British Museum. Wole Talabi's debut novel won the Nommo Award.
