About this book

King Oberon is repairing Castle Amber after winning his great battle with the forces of Chaos, when he learns that the Pattern seems to have been copied in the castle's depths. In a single evening he discovers that there is a whole civilisation living beneath the ocean, in a mirror duplicate of Amber, whose queen wants him to remove the Pattern from her realm.

His father is trying to make him a puppet king, his sister is trying to marry him off to a grasping would-be queen, at least two of his siblings want him dead, and the entire Shadow-universe is starting to unravel. A continuation novel by John Betancourt, the fourth and last of the Dawn of Amber prequels.
