Ashok K. Banker is an Indian author and screenwriter known for his works in the fantasy, mythology, and thriller genres. He was born in Mumbai, India in 1964.Banker is best known for his retellings of Indian mythology, including the Ramayana Series, the Krishna Coriolis Series, and the Mahabharata Series. His retellings are known for their modern and accessible language and their ability to bring ancient myths and epics to a new generation of readers.In addition to his work in mythology, Banker has also written thrillers, crime fiction, and children's books. His works have been translated into several languages, including French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Russian.Apart from his writing, Banker has also worked as a screenwriter for film and television. He wrote the screenplay for the Bollywood film "Zor," and has also written for the popular television series "Savdhaan India" and "Crime Patrol."Banker has won several awards for his work, including the Crossword Book Award, the Raymond Crossword Popular Award, and the Ratan Tata Fellowship. He continues to write and inspire a new generation of readers in India and around the world.
