Raymond E. Feist and Janny Wurts are American authors known for their collaborative works in the epic fantasy genre. Feist was born in Los Angeles in 1945, while Wurts was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1953.Feist and Wurts' most notable collaboration is the "Empire Trilogy," which takes place in the same world as Feist's "Riftwar Saga" and follows the story of Mara, a young woman who becomes the ruler of a powerful empire. They also collaborated on the "Daughter of the Empire" series, which follows the story of Mara's daughter and her own rise to power.Feist and Wurts' writing is known for its rich world-building, intricate plotlines, and exploration of themes such as politics, power, and personal responsibility. They have won several awards for their writing, including the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1989 for "The Serpentwar Saga."In addition to their collaborative works, Feist and Wurts are both accomplished authors in their own right.
